The Australian convention scene is alive and kicking.  Whilst no convention the size of Gencon occurs in Australia, Arcanacon is the largest independant Con in the southern hemisphere!  BUT, Never fear!  Gencon OZ is coming in 2008.  Until then, you might like to attend one of the conventions that occur in most Australian capitol cities.
