Selection Criteria
Important
Sound understanding of the operation of internal and external websites within a Government environment and awareness of Whole of Government initiatives.
Basic conceptual and graphics/design ability and experience in the use of web authoring and management software such as Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Microsoft FrontPage.
Good problem-solving and project coordination skills including the ability to plan and organise concurrent tasks to meet tight deadlines, and adjust priorities as required.
Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated customer focus with the ability to resolve issues and provide a high level of service.
Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team, including the flexibility to work as a member of a virtual team.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Workplace Diversity, OH&S and participative work practices, and an ability to apply them to work practices.
Less Important
A general understanding of the range of programs administered by the Department of Veterans' Affairs.

Duties:
Under the
management of the Manager Web Services:
Provide support to the Team and DVA business areas through the development and delivery of web-based material, including:
preparing material for publication,
assisting with the preparation of user trends and other website data,
liaising
with business and IT areas, including DVA's network of
state-based
offices, in the development of new material and new sites for the
web,
provide a help desk facility for website authors and users,
assisting with website management, including security and quality assurance, and writing related documentation, and
assisting with user training.
Provide secretariat support to the Intranet Working Group.
Undertake
other duties in support of the Section as directed.
Promote and practice the principles of Workplace Diversity, OH&S and participative work practices.
