Selection Criteria
Important
Demonstrated graphic design skills, specifically for web sites, and a sound knowledge of related Government standards including accessibility and metadata.
Demonstrated ability to develop material for publication on DVA websites using a range of authoring software and a knowledge of HTML and JavaScript.
A sound knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in, website content management for a large Government organisation, with knowledge of trends within the Internet industry.
Good conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to plan, organise and manage concurrent projects to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work individually, or with a wide range of people, within or outside the organisation, including:
one-on-one,
as part of a team, or
as part of a virtual team.
Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders and customers.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Workplace Diversity, OH&S and participative work practices, and an ability to apply them to work practices.
Less Important
A general knowledge of the various programs administered by the Department of Veterans' Affairs.

Duties:
Under the management of the Manager
Web Services:
Continuously improve DVA’s internal and external web presence by:
liaising with business and IT
areas, including DVA's network of
state-based offices, in the
development and design of new websites,
liaising with the Minister’s Office and the Department of Defence in the ongoing development of the Minister’s website, and
working with business areas in the further development of secure web-based transaction capability.
Provide web consultancy services to business areas including:
liaising with third-party website developers and hosts in adding new sites to the DVA network, and
preparing material for publication, including the Annual report and other key public documents.
Provide other support services such as:
publishing material to the websites,
testing software on a PC Graphic Workstation, and
assisting with user training.
Undertake other duties in
support of the Section as directed.
Promote and practice the principles of Workplace Diversity, OH&S and participative work practices.
