DUTIES
Under general direction perform functions consistent with standards. This includes:
The day-to-day operation and support of the Voice switching system ensuring correct and reliable operation.
Perform scheduled system administration tasks as detailed in the system training to be provided as part of the transition project.
Provide end user support and first level fault resolution
Escalate system related problem to the IBM-GSA help desk.
Provide management reporting as required.
Perform all moves, adds and changes relating to the operation of the ACT area.
Perform all system administration tasks relating to the creation / deletion of voice mailboxes and password administration.
Promote and practice the principles of Workplace Diversity, OH&S and participative work practices.
End User Support
A demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the high quality support of end users.
2. Communication Skills
Demonstrated ability to:
Liaise and negotiate effectively with all levels of staff, including management, staff representatives, end users, external agencies and suppliers.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
3. Technical Skills
Experience in the use and administration of Telephone Information Management Systems (Phoneware) or similar.
Experience in the management and administration of enterprise PABX systems including MAC work.
Experience in the administration and operation of Voice Mail systems including the creation and deletion of voice mailboxes.
Experience in the liaison with third party organisations such as carriers and other service providers.
Knowledge of modern packetised voice technologies (voice over IP).
A Communications Australia wiring licence would be an advantage.
