I've been roleplaying since 1994, not long by some standards, and I've been con going since 95. I started with White Wolf stuff, Mage, Vampire, Werewolf etc, skipping over the traditional D&D background that most people begin with. I've also played my fair share of Traveller, Paranoia, Cthulu and Toon, among others. These days though I show a distinct preference for the systemless serious wank carthart stuff. This is why I spend so much time travelling to interstate cons. My team is called "Will Fuck GM's for Trophies" its made up of me, Madi, Morgan, Neef, Richard, and various others have also played with us at times, including Aveline, Arwen and Michael. I think It would be safe to say that "Will Fuck" has gained a certain noterity. The serious systemless is what I like to play, and also these days, what i'd like to write. I've been GM'ing for other people at cons, longer that i've been con roleplaying, and recently I've began to try my hand at designing for cons. I've written three con games, and am in the process of writing a short Mage campaign. Plus I also have plans for a Y2K game and a Jeff Noon/Lewis Carroll inspired game in the works, also an idea for a Michael Marshall Smith game, but that is probably going to have to wait... Now having said that I'd like to write serious games...two of my four games to date have been based on Jim Hensons works the Muppets and Sesame St. The third Henson game was based on the Storyteller series. I've also written a dark Paranoia game. Here's the blurbs for what I've written. I'm currently working on another game, Its called On the Beach.- inspired by the novel by Nevil Shute and the subsequent movie. Its a sad little tale about the end of the world.
I write as part of a writing team called Unwritten Rules, for more info on them and more blurbs from Unwritten Rules games, do check out the Unwritten Rules website I also plan to be running a game at Conquest next year, although it will either be a large Neverwhere freeform or a 5 player serious game called Sea of Glass. I'm also tempted to write for an interstate convention, possibly Necronomicon or Pheno later this year. Maybe On The Beach for them. |
